Kathie Lee Gifford's Son Cody Marries Fiancee Erika Brown
Congratulations! Kathie Lee Gifford‘s son, Cody Gifford, is officially a married man. The Today alum’s eldest child tied the knot with his longtime fiancée, Erika Brown, during a romantic wedding ceremony over Labor Day Weekend.
“God gave us a glorious day to celebrate this glorious couple,” the 67-year-old gushed alongside a photo of the newlyweds holding hands on Monday, September 7. “So grateful.”
Kathie Lee’s new daughter-in-law, Erika, also marveled over the special day as she shared a similar snap with her hubby. “Happily ever after. Matthew 9:6,” Erika simply captioned her post. The iconic TV star left a sweet comment on the brunette beauty’s photo, writing, “Cody married!! Cassidy married! I am the happiest mama in the world!”
For their wedding, Cody, 30, was more handsome than ever in a black suit and tie, while his stunning spouse looked enchanting in a white gown that featured lace detail, embroidered flowers and a sweetheart-neckline. According to People, “just parents and siblings were in attendance” in order to stay within guidelines amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Kathie Lee first announced her son was officially engaged in May 2019. At the time, the former Live With Regis and Kathie Lee star — who shares Cody and daughter Cassidy Gifford with late husband Frank Gifford — uploaded a pic of the two while celebrating the engagement.
“My son is engaged and I couldn’t be happier for him and @missamerikabrown!!!” the TV personality sweetly penned on social media.
Cody and Erika’s gorgeous wedding ceremony comes less than three months after Kathie Lee’s youngest daughter, Cassidy, walked down the aisle with her husband, Ben Wierda. The 27-year-old stunner married her longtime love during a private and small reception on June 15, Us Weekly reported.
Now that both her kiddos are married, Kathie Lee has some time to focus on her own dating life. Although she still misses her beloved late husband, Frank — who died in 2015 — the Kathie Lee and Hoda alum revealed she would say “I do” to “the right person.”
“If that person comes along,” Kathie Lee told Closer Weekly and other reporters during an event in January 2020. “Marriage, I’ve been blessed. I had an amazing second marriage. My marriage to Frank, we were friends for four years and married for almost 29, that was the real deal and I’m not going to settle for anything less than that … that’s for sure.”
