Sovereign citizen Helen Delaney wanted by NSW Police on Outstanding warrants

Police are searching for a sovereign citizen who made headlines earlier this year when she was dragged from her car by police during a traffic stop.

NSW Police put out an appeal for information regarding the whereabouts of 53-year-old mother, Helen Delaney, over outstanding arrest warrants.

On January 19, Ms Delaney and an associate recorded themselves in a tense standoff with police near Coffs Harbour as the pair spouted nonsense arguments for why they were exempt from the law.

A Highway Patrol officer was recorded asking Ms Delaney, who was driving the vehicle and refused to wind her window down further than the tiny gap she left, for her driver’s licence.

“I’m not in your jurisdiction,” Ms Delaney said.

“Yes, you are,” the officer responded.

Ms Delaney and her passenger gave a barrage of reasons they didn’t need to comply.

The pair argued they were not in the officer’s jurisdiction, that there was no Queen to give orders, and that they were “travelling”, not driving.

After three minutes of negotiation, the fed-up officer smashed the window with his bare hands and dragged Ms Delaney out, all while copping a foul-mouthed spay from her male passenger.

She was charged with outstanding warrants, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving an uninsured car, refusing to produce a driver’s licence, state name or address, and refusing or failing to submit to a breath test, but was granted bail days later.

She was banned from driving any vehicle and ordered to comply with the apprehended violence orders she was alleged to have breached and barred from entering six NSW towns.

But on July 4, a statement published online by the South Coast Police District for Ms Delaney’s appealed for her whereabouts.

“Helen Delaney, aged 53, is wanted in relation to a number of outstanding arrest warrants,” the station said in its statement, accompanied by a headshot (above).

Police describe her as about 150cm tall, 60 kgs, medium build, of caucasian appearance, with a light complexion and blond hair.

“She is known to frequent the Shoalhaven area and the Ryde area,” they said.
